Apparently I missed a memo: 104.5 FM started broadcasting alternative rock in the Philadelphia market about a month ago as radio 104.5.

Even though I’m all about the iPod, I still need to be told what to listen to somedays.

I stopped paying attention once circumstances forced me to be mobile, but I noticed tracks from the Smashing Pumpkins, Presidents of the United States of America, and Sublime. UPDATE - Psychedelic Furs! Spacehog! Gin Blossoms! Soul Asylum! I’m in mid-nineties alterna-rock heaven!

I’m not going to pretend a lot of this doesn’t suck, but there’s a part of me happy that there’s at least one alternative rock station in Philly. Especially with a healthy mix of “classic” popular alt-rock songs.
