A source told The Phanatic Magazine Thursday that a succession plan to replace Penn State head football coach Joe Paterno is being ironed out.
The man in the middle of this plan — Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano.
As Black Shoe Diaries says, it’s hard to trust something posted on a free blog citing anonymous sources, but talking about it won’t kill anyone.
It’s clear Schiano wants the job (or enjoys the ambience of northern Jersey over Miami or Ann Arbor). Given Penn State’s recent recruiting successes, it’s hard not to suspect there’s a succession plan in place.
